I know it is much, much easier said than done, but try to keep focusing on the wonderful LIFE which you gave your dog. My thoughts are with EVERYONE affected by this story. xxxClaire Mnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7457786458429416955.post-25153945673387256442009-08-29T11:55:14.874+01:002009-08-29T11:55:14.874+01:00This is so sad, and it makes me wonder if I actual...This is so sad, and it makes me wonder if I actually got my cavaliers ashes back, or just a load of ash? when Toby had to be put to sleep I was heartbroken and paid £176.00 to have his body cremated on his own, we then waited a week and got his ashes back, when i felt at ease with the situation we buried his ashes in his favorite spot in the garden and then put a miniture weeping willow on top, i,d hate to think that he was not there. when it comes to my zak and tasha i will go to the nearest pet cemetary and wait until i can recieve their ashes, this has made me lose faith in crematouriums for pets.jo siemieniowskinoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7457786458429416955.post-73307054681903329562009-08-26T14:44:46.585+01:002009-08-26T14:44:46.585+01:00Just when I think I've heard every disgraceful...Just when I think I've heard every disgraceful form of cruelty to dogs along comes another horrific story! *SIGH*

The attitudes of people like the staff of Peak Pet Cremations when it comes to dogs is socking. That even in death, they can't respect an owners last wishes for their beloved pet and instead are doing all they can to make as much profit from the situation as possible.

For an owner to treat their own dog cruelly is simply awuful, but for a person to be employed by a bereaved family that have just lost their beloved pet to give the dog the just burial / cremation that the family have asked for and have trusted in the company only for them to then turn around, pocket the profit and dump the dog in a field is disgusting!

If we can't even trust in the sympathy of bereavement consultants for our pets that have passed on there is something very wrong with this world.

What are the regulations with companies like this? The insurance? What about quality control?
Or are these things overlooked because its "not important" or because its "only dogs" and the people regularting businesses feel their time is better spent on Cafe's health & safety standards and the like!

There needs to be more quality checks put into play with any business such as this to ensure that when a family goes through the loss of a pet, it isn't furthered by this outrageous turn of events.La Minghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08706939596711149978noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7457786458429416955.post-59206755046661881722009-08-26T10:47:01.049+01:002009-08-26T10:47:01.049+01:00Having collected my GSD's ashes from our veter...Having collected my GSD's ashes from our veterinary surgery some 18 months previously, my heart goes out to this poor family.

It is your final goodbye and I chose to bury Zak's ashes in our garden under his favorite tree.

It was to be my final act of love for him.

I would certainly lodge a complaint in the hope that some action was taken.Nina Colehttp://www.ninasnanniesforpets.co.uknoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7457786458429416955.post-63713254771625202262009-08-26T07:44:31.699+01:002009-08-26T07:44:31.699+01:00How heartbreaking. It's too hor...Oh my God, this is so disturbing. It's too horrible to contemplate - all the people who have used this crem must be going out of their minds, worrying if the same fate met their pets. And is this crem alone?

Shudder.

Just too, too nasty to think about. I usually drive my pets to a private crematorium myself and stay until the ashes are ready for me to take home. But then, short of actually witnessing the body going into the incinerator and seeing the collection/crushing of ashes afterwards - something no grieving owner wants to see - how can we ever know that our pets are being given a decent cremation?

The betrayal of trust on the crem's part is just unforgiveable.

It's the stuff of nightmares.

ClaireAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7457786458429416955.post-84871592071599400452009-08-25T23:44:06.552+01:002009-08-25T23:44:06.552+01:00Oh my god, what a nightmare! - those poor people :...Oh my god, what a nightmare! - those poor people :(
Mr Brown & his family must be suffering their loss all over again.
How terrible to have a last memory of your dog in that condition, wet, matted & crawling with maggots.

I hope Peak Pet Cremations are thoroughly investigated & the book thrown at them, this is a despicable thing to allow to happen.

I hope all vets take notice of this & ensure they only use crematoria registered with the APPCC
http://www.appcc.org.uk/

[You don't have a live link Beverley]Chapstaffhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16642615396582620026noreply@blogger.com
