Let's make sure the Indian summer doesn't result in carnage

The tragic case - which inspired the Don't Cook Your Dog campaign - involving the policeman who left his two dogs in a hot car is being heard on October 12th.

Let's hope those two poor dogs terrible deaths will be the last at the hands of policemen and that together we can all protect dogs everywhere.Even with the coldest summer for two decades the RSPCA still had thousands of cases of dogs in distress in hot cars THIS year.

I've had a wonderful weekend - but I do hope that no more dogs ever died as a result of being left in cars.

Hi - big dog Zola from South of France here! It's a shame that doggies aren't welcome in many public places, coffee shops, bars, restaurants (even sitting in the shade under outside tables) in the UK so that they don't have to stay in the cars during hot weather...why are they left in cars anyway? In France, us doggies are allowed everywhere so we are never left alone in cars during the hot weather - it's just not done over here. Maybe it is because we are welcome everywhere that our doggie manners and 'out and about' skills are very good and humans like to see dogs out and about interacting socially. Hope all the UK dogs enjoy the weather safely and have some good outdoor fun!

The French enjoy seeing dogs interacting and being part of society and doggies benefit enormously from this in their learning...Plus every bar, cafe and restaurant always serve dogs their water bowls before the humans get a drink!..heehee :) Hope all the UK dogs enjoy the weather safely with some good outdoor fun!
