But they never really went to the moon...

And the photo in the last blog was obviously so shocking we must have made it up, some of you just don't believe it possible that this sort of thing is still really happening...

Couldn't let the following comment on the previous blog go unanswered...

"Just when was the picture in this taken? As I did not think the benches at Crufts this year were with Green Panels.................If it is who took it? If not why use it? "

So I emailed the person who took the pic just to double check that it was definitely taken this year. And why do you want to know their name precisely? Perhaps so they can be refused press accreditation next year? Here's the reply...

"I've only been once! And it was this year!!!!!!
I have plenty more pictures of panels if they don’t believe me! Plus a video!"

And here is another one of the pix - note the green dividers and the prize card and rosette which states Crufts 2010 and you can see DFS clearly on the hoarding to the left...

Conspiracy theorists please note, the Pekes on ice was sadly a real picture of something really depressing still happening this year at DFS Crufts.

Just spotted a comment from someone who couldn't see what was wrong with the Peke photo. You need to read this previous blog for the whole story.

If you look closely you'll see that the Peke is sitting on those ice packs you use to keep your pack lunch cool and has a fan trained on his or her cage.

Yes anonymous you are missing a great deal. An understanding of what dogs should look like for a start.Plus the ability to stand up and put your name to your comments.

I was at Crufts this year and can confirm that the bench sections were green. I can also confirm that even on a chilly weekend in March there were many overheating dogs there.

It is a very sad spectacle for the most part.

I agree with Anonymous above - you're damed if you do and your damed if you don't!!

If you replaced the dog with a human then people would be deeply concerned and outraged. Dogs that have to be cooled down by fans and Ice packs should not happen unless it is in a veterinary hospital. The breeders and the KC should be ashamed. Poor animals.

This has got nothing to do with the way the dog has been bred I was at the show and it was warm. You would all be up in arms if the dog had been left in the heat. Like I said, damed if you do damed if you don't.

Im sorry but its the poor dogs that are damned.

Wake up anonymous people. It has EVERYTHING to do with the way the dogs are bred. Try putting a tight peg on your nose, close your mouth and try and breathe. In fact, put on a thick winter coat whilst your at it.

get a life people, the dog appears totally relaxed and comfy. the dog was not hooked up to life support, an intraveinous drip or oxygen mask....it was being kept cool and calm in a hot, chaotic hall.....but what do i know i dont show dogs or own a pekinese.

It was very warm on the benches good on the owner for providing a fan.

For the anonymous poster that said get a life. The dog is not regulating its body temperature by its self. On the day in question it was not extreme temperatures, was not a heat wave in Crufts. If this dog was fit for function it would be able to regulate its own temperature.

Actually last ANONYMOUS person, it was very cool in the halls where the pekes, pugs frenchies and bulldogs were. In fact I think the aircon was on max.
So the need for extra cooling only concludes that these breeds CANNOT cool themselves down sufficiently in a NATURAL way.

right of course, katie price. you're right i think i did actually see dead pugs and frenchies littering the aisles of crufts because they were not able to survive in the climate. its because of inbreeding.

Its Kate Price.
Im confused by your last post to be honest. Of course its down to inbreeding and selective breeding. Selecting for flatter and flatter faces, to the point that these brachycephalic breeds struggle to cope in hot weather, hence the aircon on full blast, ice packs and fans.

would people please stop being anonymous and put names to their comments as this gets confusing :)
My comment on 17th at 17.58 is directed at anonymous comment "get a life people"

I go to Crufts every year and by 2 o clock it was very hot due to the crowds it is hard in some areas to avoid feeling unwell and i dont wear a fur coat.We would all shout the place down if the dog was locked in a car so why penalise an owner for trying to keep their dog cool in a hot hall where it is stuck all day unlike the humans who can move away.I would have loved to borrow its ice pack and used a cooling spray on myself and im not a mutant or inbred

fine, i'll stop being anonymous. but i still don't think the picture of that pekinese is worth all this kerfuffle.

Yeah Katie and you obviously do not know much about a crowded, highly it venue. As stated my dogs were panting despite their longer muzzles and baldness lol Oh but then no doubt they had a terribe rash from being shaved so maybe I had no time to apply a fan and ise pack lol Get a Life for goodness sake

Oh and If I was you Katie I would look at some of Pete the Vets pics as some poor dogs on in his pics were panting and no fans now that may be classed as neglect especially on here
